Introducing the Collective KC

Kansas City may be 485 miles away from Nashville, but the spirit to create music here is alive and well! If you participated in the ONE KC campaign, you are likely familiar with a song co-written by a local Kansas City worship leader, Jesus is our King.

Mitch Langley of Westside Family Church, went to Nashville to meet up with some other talented musicians to write and record the song which also included vocals from another talented Kansas City worship leader, Patricia Thompson.

The experience got Langley thinking: What if they created a “collective” designed to glorify the Creator by helping local Kansas City musicians, singers, song writers and other creatives easily connect, support and sharpen one another and share resources?

That was the idea that birthed The Collective KC! This month, The Collective KC kicks things off with its first official gathering of local talent. The event will feature a time of connection and worship, along with a complementary BBQ dinner from The Rub. A second gathering in June will feature breakout sessions.
