HONG KONG 2019 & 2020
In March of 2019, our brothers and sisters in Christ in Hong Kong did something amazing. 300 churches came together in unity for Lent, the 40 days leading up to Easter, to listen through the gospel of Luke and the book of Acts using an app they created in partnership with Faith Comes by Hearing. Thousands of people inside and outside the church joined this viral movement to take in God's word over the 40 days. Many lives were touched and many people came to know Jesus. They called it ONE.
ONE 2021
Our brothers and sisters in Hong Kong have asked the churches of Kansas City to partner with them in a similar experience for Lent 2021. We have said ‘yes’ and we are beyond excited for what God is up to.
The vision is completely focused on Jesus:
We are rallying 300 churches in Kansas City and Hong Kong to teach through the gospel of Mark in our weekend services over the six weeks of Lent.
We will form 3000 watching groups who will both watch and listen to the gospel of Mark, word for word, over that same six weeks.
We will enlist 300,000 individuals in our city to listen to the gospel of Matthew, Luke, and John in their own heart language over the 40 days. Just an average of 10 minutes a day for 40 days will walk you through all three books.
Hong Kong and Kansas City will partner with two more cities in the United States and two more international cities to join ONE.
Imagine six major cities around the world united. 1800 churches, 18,000 watching groups and 1.8 million people taking in the life of Jesus over a six-week period.
Recall the book of Acts—Peter and the other disciples right after they received the Holy Spirit, spoke the message of the gospel of Jesus to thousands of people who gathered for the festival of Pentecost. At least 17 different nations were present. Miraculously, everyone heard the gospel in their own heart language. Through our partnership with Faith Comes by Hearing and the Bible.is App, we have the technology for everyone to hear the good news in their own heart language. Like Pentecost—take two.
WHY?
In Kansas city, there are 65 languages spoken in our schools alone. The world has come to our city and the world has come to your city, leaving us with a tremendous kingdom opportunity and we are believing that what God did on that day in Jerusalem in AD 33, He is going to do again in our cities in 2021.
On that day, 3000 people gave their lives to Christ. We are trusting that God is going to give each of the six cities, 3000 new believers over this six-week experience. That is 18,000 new followers of Jesus.

The entire program is completely free. Everything from sermon manuscripts, videos, the Bible.is app and all of the support and promotional materials come at no cost to any church or city thanks to generous donors who believe in the goals of ONE.
FAITH COMES BY HEARING
In Kansas city, the 300 churches and marketplace leaders are banding together to sponsor 300 Bible recordings through Faith Comes by Hearing.
If 15 cities did this, we would completely fund the vision to have the Bible in every language by 2033. Over six weeks, we could see churches sponsor Bible recordings in 4,500 languages.
